Do you know someone who doesn't like cream puffs? I don't.
They are my favorite treats.
Ingredients:
For dough
- 125 ml. of water
- 30g. butter (margarine)
- pinch of salt
- 30g. of corn starch
- 70g. flour
- 2-3 eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
For filling
- 500 ml. of milk
- 1 bag of powder pudding (vanilla)
- 50g. of sugar
- 250 ml. of cream
Preparation:
- Warm the water, butter and salt until it starts to bowl.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and add flour and corn starch and mix it constantly.
- Cook until the mixture starts separating from the saucepan. (about 1 minute)
- Add the eggs. Mixture should be smooth and shiny.
- Cool the mixture and add baking powder.
- Shape cakes in the size of a walnut.
- Bake them on an oiled baking pan at 220C for 25-30 minutes. ( Do not open the oven first 20 minutes so the dough wouldn't be settled.
- For the filling, mix the pudding powder with sugar and 4 tablespoons of milk.
- Warm the rest of the milk until it starts to boil, then remove from the heat.
- Pour into it the milk with the pudding and bring to a boil.
- Leave this mixture in a bowl to cool.
- Mix firmly whipped cream in the pudding.
- Fill baked and half-cut cakes with this cream (as shown)
- Sprinkle them with powdered sugar.
Enjoy :)
